If you imagine a world in which children are free to roam fields, walk dogs and alpacas, feed sheep, collect eggs, dabble in ponds, scramble over logs and ditches and clamber about in tractors and combine harvesters. A world of good old-fashioned fresh air and exercise, and – in winter at least – probably quite a lot of mud! Well that’s exactly what the children will experience when they come to Mini Explorers at Crabtree Hall.

Mini Explorers Nursery is a unique concept in early years childcare. As far as we are aware, we are the first and only Farm School in the country!
Set on our own 260-acre farm near Bedale, on the edge of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales, Mini Explorers Nursery is a unique concept in early years childcare. Our days are shaped by the seasons on the farm and the natural world around us. Steph Pybus who runs the nursery and her team believe passionately that children should be given every opportunity to immerse themselves in the great outdoors and be offered unrestricted, carefree access to the open countryside.

Mini Explorers are given daily opportunities to explore the farm and the beautiful countryside around us, and learn about the natural world, food production, animal welfare and the farming landscape of Crabtree Hall.
